On the Healthcare Experience: “While my years as senior leader in healthcare were formative, it was my own experience with breast cancer that elevated for me the critical need for caring, compassionate communication in healthcare settings. I will never forget the many expressions of caring and kindness offered during my time in treatment and beyond, not just from doctors and nurses, but also from technicians, receptionists and parking attendants. It was these experiences, as well as the moments in which caring was invisible, that inspire me every day to bring compassion into people’s lives when they are at their most vulnerable.”
