Carla Rotering is co-author of The Language of Caring Guide for Physicians: Communication Essentials for Patient-Centered Care. Dr. Rotering also co-created the web-based, blended learning program, the Language of Caring for Physicians® and has served as a Coach with clients since the program’s inception.

Dr. Rotering is a respected Pulmonologist and physician leader. Currently, she practices Pulmonary Medicine and is Medical Director of Respiratory and Pulmonary Rehabilitation at both Banner Thunderbird Medical Center and White Mountains Regional Medical Center in Arizona. She chairs the Physician Health and Wellness Committee at Banner Thunderbird and mentors medical students at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine.

Dr. Rotering earned her medical degree from the University of North Dakota, School of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Pulmonary Fellowship in Phoenix. She also holds a Master’s degree in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica with an emphasis on health and healing.

While continuing her clinical practice and leadership roles, Dr. Rotering also applies her special gifts to engaging, training, and coaching physicians to strengthen their relationships with patients and families, achieve better patient outcomes, and deepen the satisfactions inherent in the noble practice of medicine.
